# A Short Introduction to General Application of Mathematics in Our Life to Live

From the study of Mathematics in Our Modern Civilizations section “Introduction” and section with the title “Mathematics and the Outside world”, now we know about what is mathematics, how simple it can be with how complex it can be as is shown by the Riemannian Theory, also when and where the mathematics has become a part of human life to live, in which on either with or without consciousness of us as human to realize it, from our daily life to live and to the further development on using it in research by a passionate or professional mathematician or some other scientist in their fields.

So, with either in our consciousness or without our own consciousness we are indeed expert mathematicians based on our own standards. Most of the time we are using the number system, which some of us may realize as a number system, and some of us may not realize it as a number system, also we are using basic algebra or an idea of operations calculation in every day of our life to live. For example like to identify time by looking at our hand-clock, wall-clock, or an extreme measurement of time by our finger to the sun position like survivalist or explorer doing it during their exploration. Another use like while we are doing transactions then we are calculating our exchange money based on the amount of money that we trade with the amount of stuff or service we get. At the same time, we also applying the study of mathematical knowledge while we have to recording a score or tracking a time from a soccer game, basketball game, and/or baseball game.

Now let’s take a look more into some other professions or programs in human life to live that use the study of mathematics either in their consciousness or unconsciousness of the mathematics itself. For example, a professional like an accountant in a company and/or institute also doing an activity based on the study of mathematics knowledge, either in a simple form of their perspective or a complex form of their perspective. Another use like an insurance program in practice is an application of probability theory in mathematics in which is based on interest exchange. In other fields like some businessmen using calculus neither directly involve nor indirect involvement in developing the efficiency of their raw material to become a new form of an object to be made and then sell it to the community. Moreover, a profession in the open field area like a ship navigator or an airplane pilot using geometry on tracking and identifying their possible route. At the same time, a surveyor neither using trigonometry and/or data statistics on their work in surveying. Besides, an architect and/or a civil engineer love to using algebra, calculus, and some other branch from a study of mathematical knowledge to support their works and to make it efficiently effective.

On the contrary, and especially to the design, then the Study of Mathematics Knowledge also connected to some other branches of human-based entertainment knowledge, for example, art, or music. Once we consider Mathematics as a foundation of the study of the idea that surrounds us, like mentioned in “Introduction 01”, therefore, in which system that been used by an artist for creating such an image on the flat surface like they practically exist in that geometrical dimension. We can measure that foundation of the study of the idea that surrounds us based on the groups of the Mathematical Theorem. One Theorem, for example, said a linear horizontal line on a parallel flat surface from observer perspective will be connected in one meeting point under the name of the unrecognizing spot, this is due to the effect of realistic 3 dimensions by connecting all the possible horizontal lines from the observer meeting at one point.

Also, still in the human-based entertainment knowledge, we are applying mathematics in music, the Study of Mathematics Knowledge plays an important role. Like a scale system (Marcus du Sautoy), harmony theory (Francis Su), and sequence. Also, an analysis of the quality of notes in form of tunes from each kind of instrument. Mathematics has been useful in designing an instrument like piano, violin, recorder, or some other sound device like a gramophone and/or radio wireless.

On the other hand, classified as in general knowledge of origins in the idea of knowledge, mathematics has explored too much more variant of branches like number systems, structures, spaces, changes, which called pure mathematics or in the theory of computation, category theory, mathematical logic, set theory, and fundamental rules, in which called as foundations of mathematics. As well as in cryptography, probability, machine learning, statistics, optimization, mathematical finance, game theory, economics, numerical analysis, engineering, mathematical chemistry, mathematical physics, biomathematics in which is called applied mathematics. Therefore, a passionate professional mathematician from the US with origin from Scotland named Eric Temple Bell calling this Mathematics of General Knowledge as “Handmaiden of Science” (O’Connor and Robertson, 2015).

Besides of application of mathematics in our daily life to live like measurement, calculation, and some other mathematical techniques, those are important to be known in the work most of the scientist. Scientist using the tools of mathematics called graphic to help with visualizing a data relation based on the information that we thought they have the connections, for an example like the data relations of distance and time which show us connection in the graph then we formulate it in a form of equations that called as speed. With an example like that, this led us to one kind of law of analysis observation of Physics in which many of which can be defined in some form of equations. An example to this law of analysis observation of Physics, as we know it now in this 21^{st} modern knowledge, for defining the speed of an object, then an object can be define based on distance and time as shown in the graphic, then we calculate them to find one logic equations in this modern mathematics we called as a quotient of distance at some amount of time or quotient of a distance that object has been moved from initial location to a new location, or in some other words, with the amount of time that object needed to move from one position to another position, in which we know it now as , with description for as a symbol for speed in terms of velocity, as a symbol of position in terms of axis along the horizontal line, and as short of time in that equation, and without forgetting about those equations have units to identify their value identity. Also, most of the time, physicists using geometry and trigonometry in analyzing force and in defining the law of optics and lights, and for that in physics, then mathematics is a tool used to answer questions (Erica K. Brockmeier, 2020).

Similarly, with Physicist, then Chemist also using calculation and graphics, and algebra in their works. The chemist also designing a law of analysis observation of Chemistry is connected to a form of equations. Action reaction in chemistry got explained in some form of an equation, from one perspective on possibility as a scientific equation. Chemists also using logarithm, a mathematical technique, in order of dealing with the pH. Another Mathematical technique like geometry and 3-dimensional object measurement has also been used by Chemist to be dealing with atom and ion. With that, Chemist could see about a connection in atom graphite that forming a model like a hexagon in such a form of chemical interaction. Also, an ion Natrium and Chloride will show us about Natrium Chloride (Salt) in a form like cubic for the chemical interaction. In conclusion, as been mentioned by Elizabeth Gordon (2021) about with a basic knowledge of some of the mathematics that will be used in your chemistry practice, you will be well prepared to deal with the concepts and theories of chemistry.

In the past, Ancient Mathematicians and Astronomers, have also used mathematics in order of a connection with Astronomy. In which since many centuries ago, Astronomers measuring an angle and altitude and some other calculations while they were measuring the movement of the sun, stars, moon, and planet in space. Now, a branches Study of Mathematics Knowledge like numbers, algebra, geometry, 3-dimensional object, trigonometry, and calculus also been used by an astronomer in order to perform a calculation and measurement and designing equipment to be used in astronomy like a telescope, a camera, a radio telescope, and some other equipment that been used till this moment and/or some other development equipment like Curiosity Rover that landed on Mars on 2012, and Perseverance Rover that landed on Mars on Feb 15, 2021.

In contrast, seems quite challenging on using mathematics knowledge to a living creature that exists on Earth. But, in fact, Mathematics also useful for Biologists. For example, in the form of genetics measurement or calculation in which to form a connection with living being ancestors. For measurement on individual percentage with their similarity on characters or physical measurement within the generation, then Geneticist using the theory of Probability. Also, mathematics has been applied by the community in making a comparison based on a similar life form. By using a method in Mathematics like Dimensional Analysis, Biologist has succeeded found a pattern of a bird using their wings, which can be defined into such an equation. It has also been tested on how this equation can work for different kinds of birds. Dimensional Analysis also can be used on analysis pattern of growth in some animal, also use on making a comparison between the age of the animal and a time frame that will be needed for the animal to breath or inhale. This is the case because Mathematics looks for patterns and asks if that pattern is just a special case or indicative of something deeper (Erica K. Brockmeier).

In conclusion, that will be our short introduction to how Mathematics has become a part of our modern civilization. In this study, we will also demonstrate several “foundational” models of Knowledge in Mathematics that have been using and surely helpful as the foundations and/or origin of Mathematics, which like numbers theory, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, analytic geometry, and calculus. With the more coming weeks, that come, we will try to introduce you as much as possible in the form of article and more detail in our coming online courses, on what is that model of Study in Mathematics Knowledge about and how the Scientist or the Mathematicians or unconsciousness practitioner Mathematician are using it till this moment of time.
